Chaque \u00e9tape diff\u00e8re de la pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente par la profondeur de la concentration atteinte et l\u2019isolement de plus en plus complet de l\u2019objet de la contemplation par rapport aux distractions et \u00e0 la conscience de soi. Samyama doit \u00eatre compris comme \u00e9tant la synth\u00e8se des trois stades du processus mental de la m\u00e9ditation culminant en samadhi.<\/p>\n<p>Quand l\u2019aspirant passe de Dhyana (m\u00e9ditation) au Sam\u00e2dhi, alors il perd totalement la conscience de soi et le portail qui conduit au monde de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 peut enfin s\u2019ouvrir.&nbsp;<\/p><p><b>Patanjali appelle cette disparition de la conscience du mental de lui-m\u00eame: \u201cSvar\u00fbpa Sh\u00fbnyam Iva\u201d, ce qui signifie : \u201cLa forme propre ou nature essentielle du mental dispara\u00eet pour ainsi dire\u201d.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Toute description ou explication au sujet de l\u2019\u00e9tat \u00e9lev\u00e9 de Sam\u00e2dhi ou contemplation est difficile, car les mots et les phrases ne sont qu\u2019un effort du mental visant \u00e0 soumettre au cerveau du soi personnel ce qui le rendra apte \u00e0 appr\u00e9cier et \u00e0 comprendre le processus.<\/p>\n<h2>Caract\u00e9ristiques de l\u2019\u00e9tat de samadhi<\/h2>\n<p><b>Dans le samadhi, le Yogi perd de vue :<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Sa conscience c\u00e9r\u00e9brale, ou les notions du plan physique se rapportant au temps et \u00e0 l\u2019espace.<\/li>\n<li>Ses r\u00e9actions \u00e9motives au sujet du processus de sa m\u00e9ditation.<\/li>\n<li>Ses activit\u00e9s mentales;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>de sorte que toutes les \u201cmodifications\u201d du processus pensant, toutes les r\u00e9actions \u00e9motives du v\u00e9hicule du mental-d\u00e9sir (kama-manas) sont subjugu\u00e9es, le Yogi en \u00e9tant inconscient. Il est cependant intens\u00e9ment vivant et alerte, positif et \u00e9veill\u00e9; car le cerveau et le mental sont fermement tenus en bride par lui et il en fait usage sans aucune intervention de leur part.<\/p>\n<p>Cela signifie litt\u00e9ralement que la vie ind\u00e9pendante des formes \u00e0 travers lesquelles fonctionne le soi r\u00e9el est tranquille, pacifi\u00e9e et subjugu\u00e9e, l\u2019homme r\u00e9el et spirituel \u00e9tant \u00e9veill\u00e9 sur son propre plan et apte \u00e0 fonctionner en faisant un plein usage du cerveau, des enveloppes et du mental du soi inf\u00e9rieur \u2013 son v\u00e9hicule ou instrument. Il est, en cons\u00e9quence, centr\u00e9 en lui-m\u00eame, ou dans l\u2019aspect \u00e2me. Il a perdu de vue tout sens de s\u00e9paration, ou de soi personnel inf\u00e9rieur; il s\u2019identifie avec l\u2019\u00e2me de la forme qui a fait l\u2019objet de sa m\u00e9ditation.<\/p>\n<p><b>N\u2019\u00e9tant plus entrav\u00e9 par la substance mentale, ou par la nature du d\u00e9sir, il \u201cp\u00e9n\u00e8tre\u201d en un \u00e9tat qui pr\u00e9sente quatre caract\u00e9ristiques pr\u00e9pond\u00e9rantes :<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>L\u2019absorption dans la conscience de l\u2019\u00e2me et, en cons\u00e9quence, la connaissance consciente de l\u2019\u00e2me de toutes choses. La forme n\u2019est plus per\u00e7ue et la vision de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9, que voilent toutes formes, se r\u00e9v\u00e8le.<br><br><\/li>\n<li>La lib\u00e9ration hors des trois mondes de la perception sensorielle; de sorte que seul est connu ou peut faire l\u2019objet d\u2019un contact, ce qui est d\u00e9nu\u00e9 de forme, de d\u00e9sir et de substance mentale concr\u00e8te.<br><br><\/li>\n<li>La conscience d\u2019\u00eatre un avec toutes les \u00e2mes, subhumaines, humaines et supra humaines. La conscience de groupe exprime tant soit peu cette id\u00e9e, tout comme la conscience particuli\u00e8re, ou la conscience que peut avoir un \u00eatre de sa propre identit\u00e9 individuelle, caract\u00e9rise la conscience dans les trois mondes.<br><br><\/li>\n<li>L\u2019illumination, ou perception de l\u2019aspect lumi\u00e8re de la manifestation. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la m\u00e9ditation, le Yogi se sait \u00eatre lui-m\u00eame lumi\u00e8re, \u00eatre un point d\u2019essence ign\u00e9e. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la facilit\u00e9 avec laquelle se d\u00e9roule le processus de m\u00e9ditation, il peut centrer cette lumi\u00e8re sur quelque objet de son choix et se mettre \u201cen rapport\u201d avec la lumi\u00e8re que cache cet objet. Cette lumi\u00e8re est alors reconnue pour \u00eatre une en essence avec son propre centre de lumi\u00e8re, et la compr\u00e9hension, la communication et l\u2019identification sont alors rendues possibles.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Il existe dans les yoga sutras dix \u00e9tats de samadhi repr\u00e9sentant chacun un niveau d\u2019approfondissement
