Surya Montréal & L'Arrêt-Source

At Surya Montreal, altruism and social action are an integral part of our values. Every year, we strive to support those most in need in our community. For this end of the year, we’re mobilizing for an essential organization: L’Arrêt-SourceL’Arrêt-Source is a shelter for young women aged 18 to 35 who are victims of violence.

Located in Montreal, L’Arrêt-Source has been welcoming women from both within the sector and across Quebec. Its mission is clear: promote the empowerment, physical and psychological safety and social inclusion of women necessary for the fulfillment of a life project through a continuum of services including :

 – group accommodation (9 places)
 – transitional apartments (16 places)
 – external assistance services
 – 24/7 help line: 514-383-2335 (confidential and anonymous)

How can I contribute?

We are organizing a collection of new itemsThese gifts are essential to the daily well-being of the women supported by L’Arrêt-Source. Donations will be distributed during the holiday season or at the New Year’s Day bag giveaway. They can also be used for welcome bags given to new residents throughout the year.

Products needed (new only)

  • lip balms
  • moisturizing creams (hands, face, body)
  • deodorants
  • facial cleansers
  • dental floss
  • make-up remover pads
  • elastics and hair clips
  • and all essential personal care products

Why is this important?

The women we accompany at L’Arrêt-Source often experience the direct consequences of the violence they have suffered: poverty, residential instability, mental or physical health problems, addictions, suicidal ideation, and many other challenges.

By offering these simple products, we contribute to :
 – Improve their day-to-day comfort
 – Reduce material insecurity
 – Support their dignity and confidence
 – Encourage their transition to a more stable future.
